With the eCommerce Day in Cologne, the projects of the call for projects “Digital and stationary retail trade think together” have officially started. The federal state is promoting six ideas to help retailers derive added value from digitalisation. statmath GmbH is also involved in the project “Data Analytics for Local Retailers in a Future Smart City” (DALES). Together with the IHK Siegen and the University of Siegen, we are going to set up a data pool for the city of Attendorn in order to optimize marketing, placement and personnel planning. The idea behind DALES is to build a bridge between the advantages and knowledge of digital commerce and stationary commerce in a medium-sized city typical for Germany. Personalised and target group-oriented advertising as well as optimised deployment of empolyees are only two possible areas of application that are to be examined within the framework of the research project.
At the eCommerce Day in Cologne, representatives of the project participants met the NRW Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart and officially heralded the start of the project once again. Prof. Dr. Dr. Björn Niehaves from the University of Siegen, Marco Butz from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Siegen as well as our Managing Director Christian Friedrich were also present.
